Our Philosophy
The safety, health and happiness of your children is our number one priority. Our role as educators in your children’s lives is to provide love, respect and support. To guide their learning, and encourage them to be actively involved in their learning process.
We as a daycare strive to support all six domains of child development; physical, language, cognitive, artistic, social and emotional. We recognize that each child has their own individual differences. We believe that children learn best by being given a chance to be hands-on. This is why our program is largely based around play. By providing many different types of play opportunities throughout the day, children will be able to develop in all domains and better understand the world around them.
It is our belief that we are stronger as a community. Much emphasis is placed on family life at Bonne Aventure, as we ensure that children across age groups know each other and have the opportunity to share times during the school day together. As a school, we are pleased to make ourselves available to families each day, and to create opportunities for them to connect with one another.
Our Founder
Bonne Aventure Preschool was founded by Sami Hakim in 2012. Prior to setting up Bonne Aventure, Sami worked in mechanical building systems as well as property development. His motivation to start a preschool stemmed from his past experience as a child mentor and camp counselor, and his desire to attract more families to Montreal’s up-and-coming Griffintown neighbourhood.
Apart from being a preschool owner, Sami is the founder of Les Dalles Vertes, a local distributor of permeable paving solutions made from recycled plastic. Sami is also an avid gemstone collector, and has been spotted perusing the aisles of the annual Gems & Minerals Exposition ever since he was a little boy.
Here for Families
Attracting families to a developing neighbourhood like Griffintown is quite a challenging task. The proximity to schools and local amenities, the availability and affordability of living spaces, the child-friendly features offered, and the safety and security of the area are all factors that contribute to its desirability. In order to meet this challenge, and to help achieve the objectives set forth by the city of Montreal and the Sud-Ouest borough, Bonne Aventure Preschool was created.
Our preschool exists to serve and support not only children, but parents too. We have created a space where families are welcome to spend time and encouraged to participate in school life, and after-school life, too. Having established a Families First policy, we’ve always aimed at acting as a bridge between young families and local community actors. In doing so, Bonne Aventure has been able to contribute to a more vibrant, secure, and child-friendly Griffintown.
